Jennifer came to the realization that she wanted to be a teacher late in her college years despite many subtle (and not so subtle) suggestions by her  family. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, she went back to get her teacher certification while serving as a substitute and aide.  She held her first teaching job as a special education teacher at her alma mater, Cy-Fair High School. After 5 years, she moved to the elementary level and served as a teacher for 3 more years before being moving to the role of Instructional Specialist and then Assistant Principal. She served as an Assistant Principal for 10 years on 2 vastly different campuses before accepting her new role for the 2017 – 2018 school year as Principal of Brenham Elementary in Brenham ISD. She is  passionate about our opportunity to educate the whole child and prepare them for world that doesn’t exist yet!

She is the lucky wife of her junior high sweetheart, Stacy, and proud mom to two beautiful girls, Tyler and Sheridan. Her favorite ways to spend time outside of school are with her family and friends and enjoying hobbies such as reading, photography and gardening. She also has recently taken to blogging – check out her blog at jennifervest.wordpress.com
